“What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, it’s only the best day of the year,”- Leslie Knope.

Galentine’s Day is a holiday that celebrates female friendships and was made popular by an episode of “Parks and Recreation” in 2010. This day is the perfect opportunity to honor the special women in your life, especially those you work with. Reflect on your relationships and empower your team with these five different ideas for a memorable Galentine’s Day party!

1. Raise a toast

Gather up your girls and pick out a few wines for a sip, sip, hooray! There is always something to celebrate, Maven. Try something new or stick to your go-to’s. Be sure to get a good variety so there’s something for everyone. A sommelier or other wine expert would be a perfect addition to this activity, making the experience more interactive and insightful. Don’t forget to pair your wine with a light snack like charcuterie to enhance your taste buds.

Not a fan of wine? Consider mixing up cocktails (or mocktails) together. Book a mixologist class to guide you through creating signature drinks and explore the art of cocktail crafting. Get into the Galentine’s Day spirit with glitter or colorful flavors and create an Insta-worthy picture. Make the most of your mixology adventure by having fun with it and collaborating with your coworkers on each other’s drinks. After all, the best ingredient is love!

2. Get crafty

Show off your creativity and get artistic with your gal pals! With crafting, the possibilities are endless, but listed below are a few that scream Galentine’s Day:

  • Jewelry-making: Gather up supplies like beads, string, and wire, and make one-of-a-kind jewelry with your girls! You could even design matching pieces to wear to work together.
  • Love letters: Express your admiration for each other with a hand-crafted note. Words of affirmation are powerful and this activity allows you to connect on a deeper, personal level.
  • Painting: From vases to mugs to canvases, you can paint just about anything! Find the media that works best for you and get your crew craftin’!
  • Paper flowers: Follow an online tutorial or hire an instructor to help you create festive flower bouquets. All you’ll need is some colorful paper, scissors, and adhesive, and you’re set!

3. Floral galore

If paper flowers don’t cut it, make a real flower arrangement. Gather a diverse array of flowers for you and your gals to arrange into bouquets, mixing colors and greenery for the most versatility. Hire a florist to make the results more cohesive and professional-looking, or use your own creativity. Consider bringing some of the arrangements into your workplace to brighten it up and remind you of the Galentine’s Day memories you made with your work friends.

4. Cocoa and camaraderie

Who doesn’t love chocolate? Craft some sweet treats together by indulging in a chocolate-making soiree. You can hire an expert to guide you through the process or gather your own ingredients and take on the activity yourselves. Collect a large range of chocolate types to ensure there’s something for everyone to enjoy. You can even use heart-shaped molds and get experimental with designs and flavors, adding your own touches along the way. After the event is over, bring in some chocolates to share with the rest of your work squad!

5. A glimpse into your future

Forget to share your New Year’s resolutions with the team? Don’t sweat it, a vision board workshop is the perfect way to connect with your coworkers and share your goals and aspirations. Collect an assortment of magazine clippings or other media, as well as scissors, adhesives, utensils, and boards. Cut out images, words, and phrases that speak to you, and arrange them in a meaningful way. If you don’t want to get messy with glue and paper, go digital! Copy and paste inspiration pictures from Pinterest or other sites, and find unique ways to express yourself. These boards are a visual representation of your future and are meant to be empowering and inspiring. It’s a great way to show your support to your coworkers while also gaining support yourself. Once everyone has completed their board, share your finished products and reflect on ways to put your visions into action.
