Karen has a long history in events and hospitality management. She’s owned and managed upscale restaurant concepts in Chicago, northern Indiana and (in a period of escapism,) Vermont. In Indianapolis, she owned an events and catering company called Small Potatoes.
Karen has also written about the Indianapolis-area food scene for nearly ten years, as a contributor to Edible Indy, Current Publications, Visit Hamilton County and Hamilton County Business. Her book, “Hamilton County Food; from Casual Grub to Gastropubs”, released in 2019 by Arcadia Publishing, exclusively highlights independent restaurant owners and growers.
Her “Maven of Merriment” column on Indy Maven, offers in-home entertaining tips and dining out inspiration.
More than anything, Karen loves a party. An accomplished cook, she is passionate about good food and wine, fresh, local ingredients and bringing people together. She is over-the-moon to be working in a space filled with bold women who love to socialize. She simply cannot wait to plan fabulous gatherings for them.
